Here is the idea: To make a website where people can go and find new music. Not the most original idea every, but we had some ideas on how to do it differently. Its a mixture of an online radio station, an online record label, and an artist showcase site (garageband, myspace, purevolume, ect). There are a lot of good unsigned bands out there, this site aims to be a place where they can be heard. Here is what makes us unique:
What makes is different?
We actually listen to the music - If we don't like the song or the recording quality is bad, we don't post the music. Sites that allow bands to upload their own music end up having so much crap that it's nearly impossible to find something worth listening to unless you know what you're looking for when you start.
It is actually free - Every band has music that you can listen to. Every song is available in it's entirety for streaming or mp3 download. We don't even try to direct you to sites to buy the music.
Finding new music is easy - Simply open the player on the homepage. If you open it in a new window (Launch Player), you can listen to music while you are searching. If you don't like a song, skip it. Skip as many as you want. If you want to choose a particular genre or location, you can do that.
Support independent music - The bands on the site are good bands that are unsigned. Our site gives them a chance to be heard. They all have links to their web sites, so if you like a band, check them out.
